Elodie's spell causes bright light to erupt inside the cabin, filling the tiny structure with blinding radiance. Rays of unbearable brightness burst from the windows and from every crack in the structure. A painful scream, which sounds almost like a crying child, emits from inside the cabin. The sound is both pathetic and terrifying.
Jacobany's (Weakened) Reflex Save = 25 (Natural 20) vs. DC 26 ... Um, FAIL? Really. Okay, suffers 42 damage (because he's vulnerable to radiance), but is immune to blindness.
We'll call that the surprise round. Initiatives for Round 1.

As soon as the light begins to subside, Elodie will focus on moving toward the cabin. As she moves, she will concentrate on sending waves of death at Jacobany, wanting to end the fight as quickly as possible.
Cast Finger of Death.

Fort save damage = 3d6 + 15 HP.

Jeremiah bursts through the front door, threatening his for with mayhem and dismemberment, just as his axe tastes the vile blood of his foe. Just as Gumphrey described, Lazukar now resembles a a floating, glowing baby with opalescent eyes that seem to be staring right at Jeremiah as he rushes in.

Right on Jeremiah's heels, the Shadow-man rushes through the door and thrusts his hungry dagger into Jacobany's chest.
- Attack Roll = 23 Hit, Damage = 14 (Lazukar is Immune to Crits, and therefore Sneak Attack Damage)
- Gumphrey also suffers 1 point of damage.

Elodie smirks at Jacobany's pitiful attempt to hurt her. Remembering his resistance to her usual fiery attacks in previous encounters, she begins to chant an unfamiliar incantation. A wispy layer of storm clouds begin to collect along the ceiling of the cabin. With a deafening crack, a white-hot bolt of lightning extends down from the clouds and strikes Jacobany.

The last three members of the Band of Four assault Jacobany's reformed body with the sort of fury and experience that only they have. After several rapid and brutal chops, a few quick stabs, and one final bolt of electricity, Lazukar explodes in a gory mess ... two glass-like, opalescent eyes are sent flying through the room, ricocheting off the walls and bouncing to an eventual rest on the blood-stained floor.
- OOC: Elodie and Jeremiah are still protected by the spells placed on them by Mittens and company. Gumphrey is not.
- Gumphrey's Fort save = 3 (Success)!! No effect.

Gumphrey nods and begins to search the premises. After a few minutes, he says "There's nothing else here: no cellar, no secret doors, no chests to unlock ... maybe his physical form just reformed here and then he was going to travel somewhere else to replace his gear?"

The party does so and concentrates on going home. As before, a world pod darkness rushes past you, almost like a falling, but sideways. Dull auras of various colors fade rapidly in and out. Until, finally you arrive back on the wooden platform constructed by the wizards-three. The party immediately arrives at the Arx, where they find it in ruin; the ziggurat collapsed in on itself a long time ago. Charred, skeletal corpses lie strewn about in every direction. The nearest trees seem to have been twisted and warped by some unknown force. Nothing remains of the farms that Talmut worked so hard to build.

And so, the last three members of the Band of Four head toward Umbrafall. Without horses, they know the journey will take several hours ... but that's nothing they aren't used to. They've spent half of the last few years travelling.
Along the way, one of the trees lashes out at them, reaching forth with a twisted branch. As battle-hardened as they are, the Band of Four avoids the branch easily ... but then they notice ALL of the trees are writhing and reaching, with coiled vines and twisted branches. Something is terribly wrong.
After a few moments, the band decides to continue forth. It shouldn't be too difficult to avoid such clumsy attacks. As they walk, however, the twisted aspects of the trees, of nature itself, begins to wear on them; the situation is dire and depressing.
About halfway to Umbrafall, they notice a shadow moving toward them, advancing along the road at an amazing rate of speed. Gumphrey hides. (I assume Elodie and Jeremiah do, as well).
Within seconds, the shadow is upon them ... and it stops right between the three of you. After a moment of hesitation, it begins to take shape, materializing into a gigantic wolf. Elodie recognizes her as Mhora Mactira Mathaira -- the Great Wolf Mother!"
"I SMELL YOU, YOUNG ELODIE, WHOM I NAMED AS WOLF FRIEND, AND YOUR FRIENDS: THE NORTH-MAN AND THE DWARF! IT HAS BEEN TOO MANY YEARS! STEP OUT OF THE SHADOWS, SO THAT WE MAY TALK! YOU WILL BE SAFE BESIDE ME!"
