Taryk shakes his head at the idea of companionship. No sport in that. He orders another rum, hoping some of the more beautiful ones will catch up.

Jasmine stands up suddenly, her chair clattering on the deck's flooring. "Alright. Everyone's nigh scattered anyhow. Drakor, if you'd like to stretch your legs I'd best make sure Iris got down that tower without breakin' her neck."

She leaves a coin for the lass, and makes her way to the streets near the temple.

She turns to the swarthy man, in particular. "Is your ship as fast as the others?"

"Also, would any of you be willing to let us sleep on the ship before we leave in the morning?"

As soon as Jasmine stands up to leave, Taryk notices two of the prettier ladies glancing at him and giggling to one another.

"Crew members?" one of them asks. "You should be wary o' any ship that short-handed."

"Eleven?!" one asks. "I don' think we have room for that many."

"Nor us," another agrees, "though, that money would be easy made."

Yet another interjects, "we don't have the need, but we can certainly make room for that many. Necess'ry or not, if you want to help crew the decks, I'm sure that can be arranged. Maybe we could reduce the cost o' passage a bit for your work?"

"How big a dog?" a new voice inquires.

"Thank you all so very much, you've all been very helpful." She turns to the swarthy man. "My siblings and I just need a place to rest through the night, and if we're going to be leaving on a ship in the morning...well, it makes sense, right? I suppose we don't need to be crew, specifically, but some kind of arrangement where we could knock a few coins off of the fare would be most agreeable. The dog is about the size of a wolf, in case you were wondering, but he's well-behaved. How much is the fare, exactly? For the three of us, I mean. Everyone else will be paying on their own. Why do you all have so much room on your ship?"

The swarthy man scratches his chin. "Well, most ships will charge each passenger a couple of coins for the voyage over. But considering there's so many of you and considering we're sailing close to empty anyhow, I suppose a better deal can be had. We just want to recoup some of our losses from this trip."

"We delivered our cargo yesterday, but the business headed the other way fell through. We've picked up some return business, but it ain't much. And we need to be in Buckfield tomorrow morning for the next shipload heading this way. If we don't find it, well, this week won't be very profitable."

- OOC: Also, just to be clear, Pobby doesn't offer companionship (he's a serving wench; the inn needs wenches to serve food and drink). Instead, the inn allows a number of freelance companions to operate on the premises, in exchange for a cut of their profits. Companionship is not straight-up prostitution, either; it's more like a modern escort service. In other words, companions provide arm candy, conversation, and sometimes song or dance; more physically intimate interactions do occur (and are often implied), but they are not specifically guaranteed with payment.

The swarthy man leads her along the docks, passing several other ships as the crews work to load or unload their cargos. After several minutes, he stops at a relatively small cog with a single mast and a blood red sail. "This is it," he says, "the Thunderfish. My name is Zalam. Let me introduce you to some of the crew."

He leads you up the ramp and into the deck, where three other sailors are waiting. One of them is winding a rope, while the other two are sweeping and mopping the deck. "We have guests," he says, "this here is Bahara, Samm, and Karsha. The rest of the crew is probably still in the city, trying to drum up business. Everyone, this here is ... um ... I'm sorry, I didn't catch your names."
