Elodie will smile and wave to the crowd, once she recovers from the surprise of such a greeting. As they reach the Prince's table, she will curtsy, and laugh with the Prince as he speaks about his sister. "Thank you so much for being so welcoming," she will respond. She will fill a cup with mead and hold it up to the soldiers. "Thank you all!" She will then sit and dine on cake and fruit.

Jeremiah wrote:Jeremiah will politely nod to the prince before he sits down and pigs out on all the various breakfast foods.
Though filling, breakfast is over rather quickly. The soldiers offer a standing ovation before returning to their normal duties. Once the great hall is mostly emptied, the prince thanks you again and offers to walk you back to your horses.Elodie wrote:Elodie will smile and wave to the crowd, once she recovers from the surprise of such a greeting. Once returned to your horses, he says his good-byes and appoints a solider to lead you back to the teleportation circle. Once there, you see that the magical gate is already open and the carts full of treasure are being rolled through to the other side. One of the clerics there greats you warmly, thanks you for coming, and asks if you're ready to go home.
Assuming nothing else delays your exit ...
You find yourselves back in the High Temple of Vilderoy, back in the Realms. On the dais at the very back of the main hall, you find yourself surrounded clergy and carts full of treasure. Behind them, stands many doors and alcoves. A marble bust occupies each alcove. As you look around, you remember that the busts represent the former High Clerics of the royal Temple. Down the center, the floor is covered by the thickest, lushest, and longest blue rug you have ever seen.
Before you, the rest of the Temple hall is open and spacious; far larger than the main hall of the temple in Umbrafall. Broad stairs and wide landings climb through the open hall, descending toward the exit. At various intervals along the way, there stands shrines dedicated to the different gods of the Realms. All of the gods are represented and all of their shrines are lavish. In the center of each shrine, is a towering marble statue, carved in the likeness of its dedicated deity. In front of each pulpit, there is a small row of pews. Otherwise, each shrine is filled with things particular to the deity in question. (In the shrine of Odin, there is a tree and a well; in the Shrine of Manannan Mac Lir, there is a collection of sea shells; in the shrine of Vulcan, there is a burning hearth-forge; and so on). Braziers and candles are everywhere, keeping the Temple illuminated.
The High Cleric of Tyr approaches you. "You have returned? Excellent. I hope your stay was enjoyable."

"It was interesting...very interesting. How are things here at the castle? Anything of interest that we should be aware of?" Elodie greets and questions the cleric.

"Not much has happened, since you left yesterday," he says, "but I hear the Arch-duchess is hosting a large ball this evening."Elodie wrote:"It was interesting...very interesting. Gumphrey leads Ol' Bekkie to the stable, as well. Nakkamtu follows along with Miphelgara-Talmut pretending to lead him.Jeremiah wrote:Jeremiah will dismount Stoney and escort him out of the temple and back to the stable
OOC: It think it's time to finish-up this chapter. If you guys decide to stay the entire winter (as planned), then you'll have 80 days of downtime in the Capital. If not, well, we'll go from there. Just post a list of what you'd like to accomplish during the winter. Partying is a must, but you can also network, study, train, craft, or a number of other things to pass the time. (If you two decide to head home early, we'll figure things a little differently).
OOC: I am doubling the usual Bonus XPs for this chapter, since there was more RP and less combat. So, you'll get 264,630 XPs. That should bring your totals to 489,978 ... just enough for 15th level. Go ahead and level-up, but (as usual) the changes aren't official until the next Chapter starts.
Re: Adventure #6 - The Lion of Vilderoy
OOC: Both characters are leveled up. Do either of you want to accomplish anything during the winter? Studying perhaps? A little training? Maybe a little crafting or research? Just give me a list; it doesn't have to be played out.

Jeremiah will study his various favored enemies. When he grows tired of studying he will leave the city and set various traps in the wilderness, in hopes to obtain some rare pelts from the area.

During the break, Elodie will attempt to get ahold of "real" Talmut via animal messenger, to ask him to teleport her to the Vicereine's. Once there, she will get her gold from the purchase of the orb (45,000 gp/4 = 11,250 gp).
With Phaastia's permission, Elodie would like to craft an item to help Phaastia stay safe while traveling with the group.
Jeweled Collar of Invisibility - functions as ring of invisibility, costs 10,000 gp to craft
She will also work with Phaastia to learn Draconic over the 'break'.
Elodie can also craft lots of items for Jeremiah, if he wants.
OOC: Still lots of time on break - anything you want for your character, Alpha?

Re: Adventure #6 - The Lion of Vilderoy
It will take the animal messenger (a hawk, I presume) a week to get to Umbrafall ... but Talmut can then teleport back and forth in an instant. He will gladly bring Elodie her share of the money and will even assist with the shopping of any components she needs for crafting.
He is also willing to teleport some or all of Jeremiah's gold, if asked to do so.

Jeremiah will also arrange for his money to be withdrawn from the guild and will thank Elodie for the assistance with his gear. After which he will arrange a time with Talmut for transport to Umbrafall for the winter solstice.
"Your all welcome to come, I'm sure the Jolly Toad will be fun."
During the winter festival before heading to the Jolly Toad he will swing by the wizards home to see if Malabus, Odin or mittens are home. If they're not, he will ask Talmut to help him leave a message that no one else, besides the three, could read. The message would include brief updates of how things are going, his current quest concerning the dragons and finally to ask them if all is well.
Once this is finished he will head to the Jolly Toad to celebrate the night away.

Gumphrey declines, wanting to experience how the Royal Family celebrates the holiday. Miphelgara, however, decides to accompany Jeremiah.Jeremiah wrote:After which he will arrange a time with Talmut for transport to Umbrafall for the winter solstice."Your all welcome to come, I'm sure the Jolly Toad will be fun."
Talmut agrees, but has to first learn the required magicks. After a few hours of study, he is ready to do so. The wizards' house still looks abandoned, though, so the magical note is left there for them. Talmut also claims that he has checked in on the wizards a few times since returning from the royal city.Jeremiah wrote:During the winter festival before heading to the Jolly Toad he will swing by the wizards home to see if Malabus, Odin or mittens are home. The staff and regulars at the Jolly Toad are very happy to Jeremiah, when he walks in. Many of them make time to come over and thank him for saving the city and many more buy him drinks. He gets handed so many drinks, in fact, that he can't even finish them all. Eventually, he retires to his regular room, with his regular girls (who, to show their gratitude, don't even charge him).Jeremiah wrote:Once this is finished he will head to the Jolly Toad to celebrate the night away.
The rest of the winter in Vilderoy is spent eating and drinking at the many feasts and playing a variety of noble games. (Jeremiah even manages to win a few, including more than one archery contest). In between the luxurious distractions he even finds time to study. His efforts to trap rare pelts, however, prove to be troublesome; although he does manage to capture a few sable and mink pelts, the distance between Vilderoy and any suitable wilderness is just too great.Jeremiah wrote:After the celebrations Jeremiah will head back to Vilderoy to spend the rest of the winter. Phaastia is thankful for the gift, and even sheds a tear of joy, claiming that nobody has ever given her a real gift before (other than a cage).Elodie wrote:With Phaastia's permission, Elodie would like to craft an item to help Phaastia stay safe while traveling with the group.
