I'll be maintaining a list of NPC's that the PC's encounter on their journeys. This is meant to help people remember who is who (since there should be a TON of NPC's in a living, breathing campaign world).

Adventurers, Friendly (1.1) A group of friendly adventurers briefly mentioned by the three merchants working directly across from the Adventurer's Guild.

Adventurers, Other (2.20) Other adventuring groups also complained about the Blackbirds misconduct.

Albin Buckley (1.29) The cook at the Jolly Toad. Cid's brother, Laci's uncle. He gave Talmut an extra cutlet.

Albino, The (4.26) An albino mentioned by Odion and Malabus. Jeremiah's black armor used to belong to the Albino. He may have owned a wheel-barrow, as well.

Ancient People of the Realms (2.5) They built many statues.

Archon of Xerona (4.4) A powerful lantern archon, summoned by Talmut and in-service of Lady Xerona.

Army of Fire Giants (1.24, 1.31) An Army of Fire Giants, led by Hjorda Surtdotr, was once defeated by the Legio Martis.

Army of Giants (1.24, 1.31) An Army of Hill Giants, led by the Mountain Giant Chieftain, Kolr Iron-tooth, was once defeated by the Legio Martis.

Army of Undead (1.24, 1.31) An Army of 10,000 zombies was (supposedly) once defeated by the Legio Martis.

Assistant, General Store, AG (1.28) The merchant at the AG's general store was assisted by another man.

Barkeep at the Adventurers' Guild (1.26, 2.20) The barkeep at the AG asked Jeremiah to register the party, in order to obtain all the benefits of membership. Later revealed to be the Guildmaster of the AG.

Black Birds (1.1) A group of incorporated adventurers who once stayed at the Jolly Toad, but now rent an entire floor at the Adventurer's Guild. At some point in the past, they reportedly had a fight with Cid's bouncer, Ladislas. Later, they tried to ambush and rob the party outside of the Scopulus Arx. Their members include a woman in black leather with two wicked blades, a towering viking with a horned helm and a large axe, a woodsman with a green cloak and a crossbow, a mage (Mortin) with burgundy robes and a gnarly staff, and an armor-clad cleric of Loki.

Black Blades (3.17) The infamous pirate crew to which Swank the Red once belonged.

Bowyer (2.21) Jeremiah bought a new bow from a Bowyer in Umbrafall. 

Buckley, Cid (1.1) The owner, proprietor, and barkeep of the Jolly Toad.

Buckley, Laci (1.1) A barmaid at the Jolly Toad. Also, Cid's Niece.

Butler (4.18) A servant construct destroyed by Mittens in the secret laboratory of the Scopulus Arx.

Cadaver, Withered (4.8) A long-dead mage was found on the floor in front of the ominous black orb in the Scopulus Arx.

Chameleon Lord (2.7) The skeletal corpse of a once-powerful illusionist, discovered by the party at Scopulus Arx.

Chancellor (2.20, 3.1) Colton Winter, Chancellor of Umbrafall.

Chancellor's Guards (3.2) Two knights always stand watch at the Chancellor's door.

Clerics (3.19) Clerics serving at the Temple of the Gods, in Umbrafall.

Corpse, Stabbed in Bed (4.9) A corpse with stab wounds was found in its bed under the Scopulus Arx.

Corpse-mage (4.20) An undead mage destroyed by Mittens in the secret summoning room of the Scopulus Arx.

Corpses, Unsightly (3.9) Undead creatures controlled by the rune-etched Octopus.

Courier (1.2) Jeremiah paid Bavol Pierce to hire a courier to deliver a letter to Fjordheim.

Crabs, Giant (3.15) Giant crabs were summoned by a trap inside the Scopulus Arx. The party ate them.

Crocodiles (2.4) The party faced several crocodiles inside the ruins of the Scopulus Arx.

Cghathro the Ever Hungry (3.17) An earth-lord mentioned by Talmut-Xispur, Son of the Fourth House of Nu'ul.

Dent, Halvar (3.2) Jeremiah's Assistant. Born and raised in the Angry Mountains, he later moved to the city to become a scribe. He carries a trio of hand axes. (Male, Ranger). He is only five foot two, but extremely broad-shouldered, with a tangled red beard. (Skills: Climb, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge Nature, Perception, Profession Scribe, Profession Shepherd, Stealth, Survival).

Dog, Rabid (1.8) When the party tracked the ogres to their lair, they encountered a rabid dog, chained to a tree just outside the cave.

Dog (2.19) One of Nature's Allies, summoned by Elodie to guard Jeremiah.

Dolphin, Heavenly (2.6) Another emissary of Lord Ahu, summoned by Talmut.

Dragon Statue, Giant (3.12) A giant statue of a dragon stood in the lower levels of the Scopulus Arx.

Drunk Creeper (1.30) When Elodie streaked the Jolly Toad common room, one drunk started toward her, but was stopped by Ladislas.

Elementals, Fire (4.3) Elodie can call upon the spirit of fire to manifest in physical form.

Eels (3.5) A family of three eels was nested is the lower levels of the Scopulus Arx.

Enthroned Corpse (1.23) General Gnaeus Marsus? Somebody else?

Eru-Belu (1.10) Lord of the Eagles, mentioned by Talmut when he summons eagles.

Ersetu, Mighty (2.20) A sleeping Earth Lord mentioned by Odion and Malabus, in reference to the House of Nu'ul.

Falconworth (1.1) One of the Jolly Toad's regulars. The love of his life was apparently killed.

Fish (3.5) The lower levels of the Scopulus Arx were flooded and full of fish.

Fortescue, Flint (3.2) Talmut's assistant. Originally from Vilderoy, he moved to Umbrafall five years ago. A trained scribe and a shield specialist, he carries a trident, as well. (Male, Fighter). He is six feet tall and bald-headed. His shield is spiked. (Skills: Craft Books, Intimidate, Knowledge Engineering, Profession Scribe, Ride. He is also somewhat familiar with Religion and Nobility). At the end of Chapter 4, he was left at the Scopulus Arx, with Talmut and Glory.

Frode (1.31) The librarian at the small library in Umbrafall.

Gargoyles, Four (4.11) Four gargoyles stood guard around an ancient tome at the Scopulus Arx. They may have been magically suspended until the party arrived. Either way, two are dead, and two have escaped.

Garvin, Lindy (3.2) Elodie's assistant. Elodie's assistant. Raised in Umbrafall, she is an expert spearman and a trained scribe. (Female, Fighter). She is five foot seven with long braided brown hair. (Skills: Handle Animal, Intimidate, Profession Scribe, Ride, Survival).

Ghouls (1.19) Five ghouls were encountered in the crypt beyond the ogres' lair, devouring the bodies of the Legio Martis.

Giant-slayer (1.27) Jeremiah's black axe was crafted for an unknown giant-slayer. Is he the same giant-slayer the black arrow was fletched for?

Giants, Frost, Scout (4.5) The party found boot tracks made by a frost-giant scouting party.

Giants, Hill (31/2.1) A giant fought the Swank, Lindy, Halvar, Flint, and Glory at the camp outside of the Scopulus Arx.

Giants, Hill, Three (1.15) In the caves beyond the ogres' lair, the party encountered three hill giants.

Gnaeus Marsus (1.21) Legate of the the Legio Martis.

Golems, Clay, Four (4.2) Four Clay Golems stood guard under the Scopulus Arx.

Gumphrey, "Shadow Man" (1.31, 2.1) An expert trouble-shooter looking for freelance work, recruited by Jeremiah to adventure with the Band of Four. (He is rather plain-looking, with mousy brown hair and just a handful of freckles around his nose). After dying at the Scopulus Arx, he was reincarnated as a dwarf.

Guards of Umbrafall (2.20) Two guards were standing watch at the gatehouse leading to the Vicereine's Palace. 

Hookers, Two (1.30) Two hookers (found by Pavol for Jeremiah) did all sorts of nasty stuff for Jeremiah the night the party celebrated their first adventure. One of them brought her sister with her next time.

Hookers, Two More (2.20) Jeremiah again spent the night with two "Lady Companions." One of the women from last time was among them, but this time she brought her sister. It was her sister's first time as a professional "woman of the night."

Imperial Guard, Elite (2.14) Statues found at the Scopulus Arx bore a resemblance to the Elite Imperial Guard of yore.

Jacobany (1.27) A local wizard who is known to have carried several magical pearls of mysterious origin.

Justiciar (3.1) Administer of Justice. A broad shouldered man of average height with flowing brown locks and a well-trimmed beard. He wore heavy armor, emblazoned with the crest of the city, and long red cloak, similarly adorned. An ornate sword hung from his belt. 

Kahin (1.5) The equivalent of a druid in the Fabled Lands.

Ladislas (1.1) The bouncer at the Jolly Toad who apparently fought in the streets against the Blackbirds.

Laqueus, Jamison & Jebediah (4.25) Jeremiah's father and brother.

Legio Martis (1.16) "The Legion of Mars." The Augustine Legion responsible for building the dungeon in the caves behind the ogre's lair.

Legionnaire, Elite (2.16) The party found boots that once belonged to an elite messenger who carried secret documents between the Legates.

Lokiites (2.20) Followers of Loki.

Lord Ahu (2.4) Lord of the Primordial Sea, Ahu maintains a pact with the Fourth House of Nu'ul.

Malabus of the Nightless Moon (1.30) A wizard in Umbrafall performing magical experiments on anyone who will let him. He works alongside Odion.

Merchant, General Store, AG (1.28) A very old man runs the general store at the AG.

Merchant, Smoke (1.2) A leathery old woman working a booth just inside Umbrafall's Westgate. She sells pipes, pipe-weed, meconium, tinder-twigs, and other related stuff.

Merchants, Three (1.1) Three merchants working the stalls directly across from the Adventurer's Guild.

Michel Tyrel Roland III (1.7) A name briefly mentioned in the introduction of Kainin Nobels.

Mittens, Mr. (2.21, 3.3, 4.6, 4.21) A cat living with Odion and Malabus. Jeremiah and Talmut were asked to show the cat around. He is a black cat with white paws and a white chin. He later revealed himself to be a wizard with really long hands who likes to wear sandals.

Mortin the Mage (2.18) A member of the Blackbirds, he wears burgundy robes and carries a gnarly staff. He appears to be a wizard of some sort.

Mummies! (4.22) Ten mummies were lying in wait in the crypts of the Scopulus Arx.

Octopus, Rune-etched (3.9) A giant octopus with magical runes etched into its skin! In fact, it's entire body is covered with sigils and wards.

Odion of the Seventh Digit (1.31) A wizard in Umbrafall performing magical experiments on anyone who will let him. He works alongside Malabus.

Ogres, Two (1.5) Two ogres were heard dragging something through the woods, the night after "Pa" was beheaded. They spoke of doing horrible things to whoever killed him. The party later followed tracks to their lair and ambushed them on the commode.

Ol' Bekkie (2.1) The name Gumphrey has given his horse.

Pa (1.2) The ogre that crushed Randal Woods. Jeremiah cut off his head. Later, two other ogres referred to him as "Pa."

People with Nice Locks and Traps Just Lying Around (4.1) This is how Gumphrey practices his craft.

Pierce, Bavol (1.1) A barman at the Jolly Toad.

Platoon (4.26) 

Rat, Dire, Summoned (2.6) Maius summoned a Dire Rat, by emulating Talmut.

Rawun (1.5) The equivalent of a bard in the Fabled Lands.

Reptilian Humanoids (3.12, 3.14) Statues found at the Scopulus Arx looked like a reptilian humanoids.

Schneider, Annie (née Woods) (1.3, 1.7) The mother of Stephen Schneider and the brother of Randal Woods. She operates an small Seamstress Shop on the north side of Umbrafall.

Schneider, Stephen (1.1) The adolescent nephew of Randal Woods and the son of Annie Schneider.

Servant of Lord Ahu (2.4) A squid summoned by Talmut.

Shark, Celestial (3.6)  A shark summoned by Talmut.

Sketch (1.1) One of the Jolly Toad's regulars. And a drunk.

Solon, the Serpentcoil Sage (1.1) A drummer working for tips at the Jolly Toad.

Son of Eru-Belu (1.10) Talmut's summoned celestial eagle; son of the Lord of the Eagles.

Stable-boy (1.1) The stable-boy at the Jolly Toad apparently fed and groomed Randal Woods' horses.

Stable-master (1.8) A person briefly mentioned by Annie Schneider.

Stillman, Glory (3.2) Gumphrey's assistant. Also raised in Umbrafall, she held many jobs before training as a swordsman and scribe for the Vicereine. (Female, Fighter 3). She is five feet three inches with hair of gold. She wields a rapier in one hand and a stiletto in the other. (Skills: Craft Locks, Intimidate, Profession Gambler, Profession Scribe, Profession Sailor). At the end of Chapter 4, she was left at the Scopulus Arx, with Talmut and Flint.

Suzet Montegranger (1.29, 2.3) A regular at the Jolly Toad, who won a drinking contest vs. Elodie. Elodie had to strip down and streak the common room, in addition to paying for Suzet's drinks. (She is slender, yet muscular, with a big head of curly brown hair, and big brown eyes). Lindy later claimed that Suzet was the most famous sell-sword in Umbrafall.

Swift Servitor of Eru-Belu (4.2) A small air elemental summoned by Talmut.

Thunder (3.3) The horse that Lindy rides.

Troops at Umbrafall (4.15) A small army gathered in the fields just north of the city. Among the ranks of fighting men and mounts, a myriad of tents and banners and campfires litter the ground. Many of the banners sport the flag of Umbrafall itself, but a few display other insignia (most likely the banners of the Vicereine's vassals).

Vicereine Emberlyn Winter (2.13) Ruler of Umbrafall.

Winter, Lord Josburn (2.13, 3.1) The signet ring belonged to the Vicereine's uncle and was found at the Scopulus Arx.

Windward, Leron (1.1) A lyrist working for tips at the Jolly Toad.

Wolf-thing, Sickly (4.18) A disgusting creature held captive in the secret laboratory of the Scopulus Arx. There is no telling how long it has been down there.

Wolves, Eight (2.3) The party encountered a pack of wolves near the ruins of Scopulus Arx. Elodie spoke to the pack leader, asking him to leave the horses alone. 

Woods, Randal (1.1) A local woodsman and guide who made a living leading first time adventurers to the ruins. He was killed by an Ogre. He is also the uncle of Stephen Schneider, the brother of Annie Schneider, and the son of the late royal forester, Randolph Woods.

Woods, Randolph (1.1) A royal forester who died some time ago. The father of Randal Woods and Annie Schneider, and the grandfather of Stephen Schneider.

Wrenny (1.1) One of the Jolly Toad's regulars. She is apparently looking for a man.

Xerona, Lady (4.4) Good Lady of Light, Queen of the Celestial Courts. Talmut mentioned her (and the bridge of al-Sihal) when he summoned the Archon.

Yellow Musk Zombies (2.5) Shambling, emaciated creatures made by the Yellow Musk Creepers from the bodies of captured adventurers.
